Las nano-computadoras que vienen y el misterioso componente que podría hacerlas realidad

Resumen
An explanatory article on memristors, the fourth passive component in electrical circuits, is presented. Although the existence of this component was theoretically foreseen in 1971, it was only relatively recently, in 2008, that such a device was discovered. As we are close to reaching the physical limit for transistor miniaturization, the memristor is becoming increasingly attractive, especially as a key component for the realization of new computing paradigms, particularly those inspired by biological neural networks. If reliable nanometric memristors can be obtained, we would be on the threshold of a new technological era, with the emergence of nano-computers and nano-machines.
