Pueblos Extraordinarios
Abstract
Constructions on the water and supported by strong piles, called stilt houses (palafitos); shelters and other constructions excavated in the mountain, known as troglodyte houses; floating cities that look like boats that are standing on the water, among other original constructions, constitute a magnificent proof of the adventure that historically many human groups have had to face to settle in some strategic places. For this it has been necessary that they have had to settle in these places for the most diverse reasons and have managed to develop human complexes in the form of villages, settlements, small towns and even cities that are deeply originals. Some of the most prominent sites that exist in various parts of the world are detailed in this article.
