Labio Y Paladar Hendido ¿Qué Es Y Cómo Se Trata?
Abstract
Cleft lip and palate is a congenital malformation (manifested in embryonic gestation). Patients with this malformation face difficulties in different aspects of their development and growth, such as: feeding, hearing, respiratory, dental, language, psychological and functional and aesthetic surgical requirements, among others. Hence the importance for these patients for receiving comprehensive treatment to have a complete rehabilitation and allow them to integrate with quality of life at school, work and social. SUMA is a non-profit civil association, whose mission is to provide care to patients with cleft lip and palate in vulnerable conditions, from the prenatal stage to the end of their treatment, through an interdisciplinary health care team.
