Abstract

Neuromorphic computing is a way of computing that takes the neural networks of biological brains as a reference and inspiration and is supported by artificial neural networks of impulses, aspiring to perform a computation that guarantees minimum energy consumption, maximum miniaturization of its components and maximum processing speed. This article contextualizes the development and consolidation of neuromorphic computing as a promising alternative to traditional digital computing, and a prospective analysis of its possible practical realizations is made.
