Abstract

Green synthesis of nanoparticles has as primary objectives the reduction of pollution in the synthesis of nanomaterials and improvement in production costs, these characteristics make it a promising and relevant technology. In this type of synthesis, it is possible to use different sources, such as plants, microorganisms and agro-industrial waste. Within them, there are different phytochemicals that play a role in the synthesis and formation of different nanoparticles, among which we will focus on those formed with zinc oxide (ZnO). This is because ZnO is a semiconductor that is used in various areas such as health, chemistry, environmental, electrochemistry, and electronics. This diffusion presents different green sources used for the formation of ZnO, emphasis is placed on the different parts of plants and what have been the results obtained, observing size, morphology and applications, in addition to presenting in a generic way the protocol for obtaining extracts of these plants´ parts and the general mechanism proposed for the formation of nanoparticles. Finally, a conclusion and future aspects are disclosed to be considered in future research.
