Abstract
The simulation of a communication network, that includes mobile nodes carried by humans, needs to consider a realistic model for representing the movement of these nodes. Otherwise, the usefulness of the conclusions obtained from such work will be limited. In this paper the three main models used to represent human mobility are presented along with some projects where they were used.
