Acondicionamiento de luz a través de materiales luminiscentes
Keywords:
Light, energy, luminescent material, downconversion
Abstract
Light is energy, and due to this fact, it may be transformed into different useful manifestations of energy such as thermal and electrical. However, another possibility is to transform light into light. In this regard, inorganic luminescent materials are of paramount importance since they allow to tailor the features of light according to specific needs. Among the salient applications, there are the artificial lighting based on a LED plus a luminescent material, and photon downconversion for increasing the efficiency of a silicon crystalline photovoltaic solar cell.
