Lactancia materna: ¿Podría ser un escudo protector contra la Esclerosis Múltiple? Breastfeeding: Could It Be a Protective Shield Against Multiple Sclerosis?

Abstract
Breastfeeding provides essential nutrients and immune protection to newborns against chronic diseases and infections. Breastfeeding for as long as possible promotes a more balanced immune system and healthier brain maturation. Evidence suggests that breastfeeding for at least 4 months may lower the risk of developing Multiple Sclerosis (MS) later in life. Promoting breastfeeding as a public health intervention is important and could contribute to reducing the incidence of diseases, including MS, in future generations. Continued research is needed to clarify the molecular mechanism underlying this potential neuroprotective effect.
