Resumen
When Dr. Nicholas Holonyak developed the first visible light-emitting diode (LED) in 1962, nobody imagined that half century later these very small light devices would replace the Edison’s century-old incandescent light bulb. In those years, a LED was only the power indicator light in electronic devices. The LED technology has changed our environment, the way we light it, but what is behind the LED story? Let’s discover the origins of the technology that has revolutionized completely the lighting market.
